Timberlake grabil Milo za prsi, ona pa njega za mednožje

Gostitelj večera je bil tokrat komik Jason Sudeikis, ki je svojo voditeljsko vlogo dobro opravil. Že tretje leto zapored je vampirska romanca osvojila nagrado za najboljši film. Film Mrk (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), ki si je prislužil kar osem nominacij, je na koncu domov odnesel pet pokovk. Glavna igralca omenjenega filma Robert Pattinson in Kristen Stewart sta slavila tudi v dveh zelo pomembnih kategorijah, in sicer sta prejela pokovko za najboljšo moško vlogo in najboljšo žensko vlogo.

Robert in Kristen, ki sta par tudi v resničnem življenju, sta si prislužila nagrado za najboljši poljub. 25-letni Pattinson je slavil tudi v kategoriji Najboljši pretep, a nagrado si je moral deliti še z igralcema Bryce Dallas Howard in Xavierjem Samuelom. Namen prireditev je, da se promovira prihajajoče filme, ki so namenjeni predvsem mlademu občinstvu. Obiskovalci prireditve so bili tako priča trailerju četrtega filma o sagi Somrak, in sicer z naslovom Breaking Dawn, 1. del, ki naj bi se začel premierno predvajati 18. novembra. Med drugim so pokazali tudi napoved za nadnaravni triler Super 8 in za film o Harryju Potterju, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, 2. del.

Nagrajence izberejo gledalci, ki s pomočjo internetnega glasovanja glasujejo za svoje favorita. Zato ne preseneča podatek, da je Justin Bieber v kategoriji Best Jaw Dropping Moment slavil s svojim glasbeno-dokumentarnim filmom Justin Bieber: Never Say Never: Justin Bieber. Za nagrado se ima zagotovo zahvaliti številnim oboževalkam, ki so mu že večkrat dokazale svojo lojalnost.

Pevec in igralec Justin Timberlake pa je bil zelo drzen, saj je igralko Milo Kunis zgrabil za prsi. A igralka mu ni ostala dolžna in ga je zgrabila za mednožje. Igralka Reese Witherspoon pa je prejela posebno nagrado za svoje dosežke, in sicer MTV Generation Award.
